Praia da Rainha is a beach with calm waters and a small sandy area, nestled between the cliffs.

The beach owes its name to Queen D. Amélia who went there to swim during the royal family's stays in Cascais, located on the side of one of the oldest streets in the historic center of Cascais, Rua Frederico de Arouca, better known as Rua Direita

The Beach has a unique environment where street commerce remains, from restaurants, hotels, and shops.

Access is exclusively pedestrian, making this beach a privileged location for tourists staying in the surrounding area.

In the surrounding area we find a snack bar with a terrace as places to stay and contemplate.

Access to the beach by car through the center of Cascais, park in an appropriate location and walk to the beach, by train get off at Cascais station and walk, by bus get off at Cascais station and walk to the beach via stairs.

The beach located not far from the center of the old part of Cascais is the small cove of Praia da Rainha literally translated as "Queen's Beach" the name is a tribute to the last queen of Portugal, Queen D. Amélia who frequented this beach.

Praia da Rainha is a beautiful small beach that differs from other beaches in the region because it is quite delimited by small cliffs and the city above, providing ample shelter. Behind the beach are several apartment buildings and large villas.

The small and picturesque beach (only 50 meters long) is the most central in Cascais and is located next to the main pedestrian street (Rua Frederico Arouca, with its emblematic Portuguese cobblestone pavement with a wavy pattern), next to a Hotel and a few steps from the train station.
