It is located in Azinhaga Sardinha, city and municipality of Sintra, District of Lisbon, Central Portugal

Its estate consists of the artistic legacy of two great contemporary Portuguese sculptors Artur Anjos Teixeira (1880-1935) and Pedro Anjos Teixeira (1908-1997), father and son.

Artur Anjos Teixeira's son will have an exclusively national career (metropolis and adjacent islands), he learns from his father and graduates in sculpture, and years later in Pedagogical Sciences in order to be able to teach.

The permanent exhibition contains a large part of the work of the two sculptors, figurative works with human and animal themes, representations of men and women of the people, in their different professions, attitudes and characteristic costumes.

Pedro Anjos Teixeira continued his father's artistic legacy by seeking to expose his knowledge through the works Technologies of Sculpture and Artistic Anatomia of Man & Comparative of Animals (2 vol.), two works aimed at children: História de Grilos Amigos da Minha Infância and Memórias de um Grão de Trigo.

The museum is located in a building from the beginning of the 20th century built as a watermill, which in Azinhaga da Sardinha used the waters of the Porto River, was later transformed into a stone sawmill, and was finally acquired by the Sintra City Council for a storage facility for municipal vehicles.

On September 24, 1974, Master Pedro Augusto dos Anjos Teixeira (1908-1997) officially bequeathed to the Edilidade Sintrense his entire estate, and a large part of that of his father, Artur Gaspar dos Anjos Teixeira (1880-1935), the works of two great contemporary Master Sculptors gathered in the same space which only opened to the public in 1976.

In 1982, the museum was closed for restoration and expansion of the environment; according to the site's deed dated 1974, an outbuilding was to be built for the donor's private use.

Visitors will find collections on display: sculpture, drawings, medals, paintings, correspondence and photography.

In this context, the Master began to live in the museum, turning the space into a House-Museum, teaching sculpture classes to young people from 1977 to 1992.

Currently, the Museum receives an internal painting with lighter tones in order to differentiate what was part of the structure from what was the object of exhibition, and all the works in the collection were also tabulated.

The Anjos Teixeira Museum is a museum space developed from the residence and work studio of the sculptor Pedro Anjos Teixeira, providing visitors with an encounter with a diverse artistic collection, with a wide range of themes.
