Jardim do Lago is now the largest green area in the city of Covilhã and was opened on January 16, 2005.

The most emblematic project of the Polis-Covilhã Program is by architect Luís Cabral and provides a landscape setting and an added value for the new area of ​​the city.

Jardim do Lago has lots of grass lined with trees such as oak, holm oak and small bushes with views of the mountains.

The water provides much needed coolness (especially in summer) the visitor can sit on the grass and observe some animals that live there (fish, swans, geese, turtles and ducks) and a calm and beautiful place to take photos.
