It is located in Praça Municipal, Vila de Arcos de Valdevez, district of Viana do Castelo, North region and subregion of Alto Minho, seat of the municipality of Arcos de Valdevez

The Parish Church is located in Praça Municipal, Vila de Arcos de Valdevez and was built by D. Pedro II on the foundations of a previous temple, probably medieval, between 1690 and 1700.

Inside, the church is characterized by its particular interior richness with notable examples of carved altars and paintings from the end of the 17th century and second half of the 18th century.

In 1765, Braga master André Soares built the Calvário Chapel located on the south side as a notable element of sensitivity forming an artistic ensemble in the Rococo style.
