It is located in the Serra da Lousã area, district of Coimbra, in the province of Beira Litoral, Centro region (Beiras Region)

When discovering this village, the visitor is immersed in the magical world of Serra da Lousã and immersed in lush vegetation where deer, roe deer, wild boar and many other species lurk.

The foundation must have taken place in the second half of the 17th century or at the beginning of the 18th century since there is no village in the Kingdom's Population Register in 1527.

The first reference to Aldeia do Talasnal appears only when a fine was imposed, executed by the Chamber of Lousã in 1679.

Talasnal has narrow streets, several local accommodation houses, a restaurant, olive oil mills, a craft store, a fountain, a village tank and here Nature and the Human hand come together.

Talasnal Village is one of the most visible of the 27 in Beiras and has restored houses decorated with vine branches.

Talasnal attracts many visitors due to the dark shale that stands out on the facades of the buildings, the flavors, the steep slope on which it spreads, the magical corners among the vegetation and fauna that surround it.

The main alley follows the slope of the hill in a steep path and leads to quelhas and alleys that create an environment of discovery that everyone enjoys exploring, waiting for the surprise of a new corner.

The predominant construction material is dark-toned slate and almost all of the building facades do not have any plaster. Here it is clear that it is possible to combine the past with the present when places are respected.

Active sports take place through hiking or mountain biking, two olive oil mills, the so-called “green gold”, one of which has been restored, the other in ruins that you can discover and many routes to follow.

Talasnal is the village where we found the most movement of residents and visitors and the rusticity of a village and the comfort of our days were wisely combined.

The paths and houses are all made of schist, there are beautiful curtains peeking from the windows and charming details spread throughout the town from where you can see the Lousã castle.

Talasnal is one of several Schist Villages in Serra da Lousã that has numerous hiking trails around it. On the right side is Casa da Eira, the reception area for tourists and on the left side is a small tavern that has traveled through time and contrasts with the plastic chairs and tables on the terrace.

At the exit of Aldeia do Talasnal on the road that takes us to Lousã, the visitor finds Miradouro Talasnal Montanhas de Amor and from here you can see the village, the green of the mountains and the color of the houses that seem to be hidden among cork oaks, oaks, pine trees and chestnut trees.

The Miradouro Talasnal Montanhas de Amor is located on the left side of the road that leads to the village, so the best way to get there is by car before or after visiting Talasnal.

Talasnal Village is integrated into the Schist Villages network and is on the list of the Serra da Lousã Site of Community Importance – Natura 2000 Network.
