Avenida dos Plátanos
 
Avenida dos Plátanos is a pedestrian area with centuries-old plane trees planted in 1901, which provide the town of Ponte de Lima with a preferred location in the summer due to the coolness that their shade provides.

In autumn, the contrast of warm colors ensures that its beauty remains and invites you to take a walk in a landscape that inspires writers and poets.

The place was subject to renovation work on the pavement, flowerbeds and street furniture that ended in June 2013.

The Church of Nossa Senhora da Guia is located in the center of Ponte de Lima, next to the Lima River (on its left bank) and at the end of Avenida dos Plátanos, Vila de Ponte de Lima, district of Viana do Castelo, Northern Portugal.

The growth of the Brotherhood in the second quarter of the 17th century and the ruinous state of the hermitage due to its proximity to the river led to the construction of a larger temple.

The construction of the new temple with the stones of what was the old Grafos hospital since it had been sold to Misericórdia and destroyed due to the opening of Rua Cardeal Saraiva.

The Church of Nossa Senhora da Guia was built in the 17th century in 1630 at the behest of the brotherhood dedicated to the cult of Nossa Senhora da Guia.

In the same place where this church was built, there was a hospital and a hermitage in honor of Saint Vincent Martyr.

In 1746, it underwent a construction campaign which included the addition of the galilee and the attached house.

Inside it would undergo a decorative campaign with 17th century tiles, proto-baroque carvings and neoclassical stucco and carving work.
Characteristics of the Church of Nossa Senhora da Guia
 
The Church of Nossa Senhora da Guia has a longitudinal plan formed by a single nave and chancel and to the right was attached the square-plan bell tower, the sacristy and the rectory.

Access to the church is via a "galilee'''' open on three sides by round arches and the facade is torn by a straight lintel portal and flanked by two windows

The main arch is topped by an oval window and topped by a niche with the image of Nossa Senhora da Guia flanked by “volutes and forages”.

One of the particularities of this monument is the chaplain's residence next to the church, built later in 1746.

Inside, the highlight is the gilded carving of the altarpieces and the tile panels with a polychrome pattern.
