They are located in the parish of Alqueidão da Serra, Vila de Porto de Mós, District of Leiria, Central Portugal.
 
The monument dedicated to the Jurassic period, is located 500 meters above sea level in a place where the landscape is stunning, going from the castles of Leiria and Porto de Mós to the Monastery of Batalha, allowing you to see the sea.

The viewpoint is made up of 15 limestone blocks that represent the main periods of the Jurassic period.

The site also refers to the period when the dominant rocks of the Serras de Aire and Candeeiros were formed.

The viewpoint also brings together two large basalt elements surrounded by the sedimentary limestone mass.

The monument is a compliment to the era that brought so many natural resources to the municipality, from rocks, rivers, caves, flora and fauna that allow it to have industrial and tourist activities.

The Jurassic Viewpoint was built on the 27th and 28th of June 1995 and is formed by 15 large limestone blocks symbolizing the main periods of the Jurassic period during which the predominant rocks of the Serras de Aire and Candeeiros were formed.

The Jurassic Viewpoint is made up of seven rocks forming a door to the past and the remaining eight are arranged in a semicircle converging towards the center of it.

The Jurassic Viewpoint is symbolically an evocation of this prehistoric period that gave this region inexhaustible natural sources that contributed to the economic development of the population through the exploitation of cobblestone for the internal and external market and for the streets and highways.

Architect Ester Vieira, Francisco Furriel, Manuel Gomes António, Parish Council, Municipal Council of Porto de Mós, and several quarry workers and civil builders from this place in Alqueidão da Serra contributed to the construction of this simple but meaningful work.

At around 500 meters above sea level with pure air and the smell of rosemary and rosemary from the Alqueidão da Serra viewpoint you can enjoy a stunning landscape, on clear days you can see the sea mirroring it, 70 kilometers away, in addition to the castles of Porto de Mós, Leiria, Batalha Monastery and many neighboring places.
